Hometown Behavioral Health
Dr. Damme partners with Auburn Family Health Center (AFHC) to provide integrated pediatric behavioral health services at AFHC on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. She earned her doctorate in school psychology from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and completed her internship at Munroe-Meyer Institute, UNMC and fellowship at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center where she worked for three years as a staff psychologist. In the summer of 2022, Dr. Damme and her husband moved their family to southeast NE to re-establish their roots and provides services near their hometowns.
Diabetes Care
Diabetes is the body’s inability to make insulin or use it properly. It is a controllable disease but requires lifelong management by healthcare professionals and yourself.
AFHC providers are dedicated to helping you manage your diabetes. We will ensure your lab results are up to date, schedule yearly screenings such as eye and foot exams, and verify that you are on the right medications.
DOT/CDL Physicals
Dr. Michael Zaruba and Dr. John Gill are registered medical examiners on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) National Registry for Certified Medical Examiners. They are able to perform DOT/CDL Physicals in accordance with the new FMCSA guidelines.

Occupational Health
Auburn Family Health Center provides comprehensive, high quality occupational health services to multiple industries. Our physicians are certified Medical Review Officers (MRO) and collectively have over 75 years of MRO experience in both Department of Transportation (DOT) and nuclear drug testing programs.
The Occupational Health Division of AFHC is a distinguished leader and is committed to excellence in this highly regulated sector. Specializing in MRO and Substance Abuse Evaluation (SAE) services for the nuclear industry, our team of highly trained physicians possess the expertise and experience required to deliver exceptional services. Currently, our Occupational Health Division serves numerous utilities across the United States.

State of Nebraska licensed technologists offer a wide variety of diagnostic exams taken with recently updated digital equipment with low radiation doses to provide you and your provider with exceptional quality imaging to aid in your diagnosis. Most exams are done during your appointment with no need to schedule a separate visit!

Healthcare Maintenance
This includes annual health care maintenance, employment physicals, DOT physicals, Medicare and insurance physicals, athletic physicals, and school physicals.

Pharmacist On Site
AFHC now offers free consultations with our registered clinical pharmacist, Stacy Zaruba.
Stacy will work with you and your provider to:
- Reconcile medications prescribed by multiple providers
- Ensure methods for accurate/effective dosage
- Discuss medication safety
- Identify and address possible side effects
- Assist in managing chronic health conditions
Care Coordination
Our care coordinator nurse works closely with your healthcare team to coordinate and organize your healthcare needs after a hospitalization.
This includes:
- Receives and reviews documentation from the facility after you are discharged from your hospital stay.
- Gathers all information and schedules a follow up appointment with your provider to review your hospital stay and make adjustments as needed.
- Performs a medication reconciliation and determines if all recommended testing has been performed and schedule screening exams as needed.
- Directs and coordinates community and regional resources to promote best outcomes and successful recoveries.
